How do I order my Motosacoche Type-A ?

To place your order, visit the Motoscoche.swiss, website, customize your vehicle, enter your details, and proceed to pay the pre-order amount of CHF 100 with your credit card. The remaining balance of the bike’s price will be due 5 days before delivery.

What payment options are available?

You can pay by credit card, bank transfer, or in cash.

What payment plans are available?

The pre-order is completed by paying CHF 100 via credit card on the Motosacoche.swiss website, which will confirm the successful receipt of your order via email.

The remaining balance of the bike’s price (minus the CHF 100) will be due 5 days before delivery, with three payment options available:

  • Full Payment
  • Consumer Credit (with one of our partners)

When do I need to pay the full price of the bike?

The full price of the bike (minus the CHF 100 deposit) must be paid 5 days before the bike's delivery.

Is leasing an option?

Leasing is available only for businesses.

When is the delivery scheduled ?

Delivery is scheduled within 4 months following the pre-order of your Type-A.

Is registration required for the Motosacoche Type-A electric bike?

The Motosacoche Type-A, which offers motorized assistance up to 45 km/h, falls under the category of light motorcycles in class L1e-B according to Directive 168/2013. These vehicles are subject to specific legislation and require registration and insurance.

How do I register my bike?

Motosacoche takes care of all the administrative work. Upon receiving your bike, we will order the license plate from the Cantonal Vehicle Office (OCV). The bike will be delivered with your registration plate.

Is insurance required for the electric bike?

S-pedelecs 45 km/h are registered vehicles. Insurance is mandatory. Liability insurance and personal injury coverage are obligatory and included in the price of the license plate.

We also offer optional insurance with our partners, Zurich or TCS, which covers incidents such as theft, destruction, and 24/7 roadside assistance.

What are the available warranty extensions for the Motosacoche Type-A electric bike?

Motosacoche offers a 3-year warranty on the frame, battery, and motor of its vehicle. An additional extension is available for the battery for 1 or 2 more years.

I do not live in Switzerland. How can I buy a Motosacoche Type-A electric bike ?

At the moment, it is only possible to purchase your vehicle in Switzerland and France.

If you reside in France:

After purchasing your vehicle for €14,890 (including taxes), you must visit the tax office to request a fiscal clearance certificate.

For this, you will need the following documents:

  • Your purchase invoice
  • The CE conformity certificate provided by Motosacoche
  • Proof of identity
  • Proof of address

After obtaining your fiscal clearance certificate, you must go to the prefecture with the following documents:

  • Proof of identity
  • Proof of address
  • The fiscal clearance certificate
  • Original purchase invoice (no registration date should appear on it)
  • The CE conformity certificate provided by Motosacoche
  • The registration application form (Cerfa n°13750*03)

You will receive your registration certificate within a few days after completing these steps.

What mandatory safety equipment is required for a 45 km/h electric bike?

A 45 km/h vehicle is a great asset for quick travel, but this speed requires certain safety features.

  • A helmet is mandatory in Switzerland with the "EN 1078" standard. Full-face models with a plexiglass visor are highly recommended. In France, a helmet with the "ECE2205" standard is required.
  • A thick jacket and reinforced pants are strongly recommended.
  • Thin gloves are also recommended.
  • Sneakers or ankle boots are essential for your safety.

Is there any assembly required by the buyer?

The bike will be ready to use when you pick it up in the store or if you choose home delivery.

Which parts of the Motosacoche Type-A electric bike are customizable?

The Motosacoche Type-A is available in 4 colors: Tenebra Black, Alpine Grey, Stratus Grey, or Lux White.

The signature bar is customizable in 5 colors: Tenebra Black, Carbon, Sandgold, Titanium Grey, or Aluminum.

The chain guard is customizable in 4 colors: Black, Titanium Grey, Aluminum, or Sandgold.

The chain guard badge is available in 2 colors: Black or Gold.

It is also possible to add a front rack and/or a rear pannier rack.

Are there multiple models of the Motosacoche electric bike?

Currently, the Motosacoche Type-A is the only model available, limited to 100 units.

A very exclusive series of 10 units exists, the "Founder's Edition," which retains the features of the 2021 Type-A with special finishing details not available in the catalog.

How do I turn on and off the Motosacoche Type-A electric bike?

The power button is located on the handlebars of the Type-A. A 3-second press is enough to start it.

The Type-A battery can be charged directly on the bike via its charging port, or off the bike after removing the battery.

No maintenance is required for this type of belt.

How often should maintenance be performed? Is it free?

A first check is recommended after 100 km of riding to ensure everything is functioning well (free of charge), followed by every 2,000 km (CHF 290/maintenance) to ensure the bike is in good condition and to check safety elements.

How long is the warranty on bike components like tires or the saddle?

Wear items such as tires, the saddle, discs, or brake pads are not covered by the warranty.
